Why we’re building Sleda
Sleda started with the two of us. Over the past few years, our lives changed direction more than once, and astrology, Human Design and the other systems helped us make sense of those changes.
They didn’t hand us answers. They gave us better questions, and words for things we’d felt but couldn’t name. What bothered us was having to piece it all together from different apps and books, each speaking its own language.
So we started building the app we wanted for ourselves: one place that reads it all together and explains it plainly. If you’re going through something, or just want to understand yourself a little better, we hope it helps you the way they helped us.

What is Sleda?
Sleda is an app for iPhone and Android that reads your natal chart, Human Design, Matrix of Destiny and Gene Keys. You get readings for each system on its own, plus combined readings that bring them together. Say you’re a Projector and today Mars squares your Sun. You might feel impatient and want to push your ideas on people. As a Projector, your advice lands better when someone asks for it, so today it may be worth waiting for the invitation.
Is there an app that combines astrology and Human Design?
Yes, Sleda does. It reads your natal chart and your Human Design together, along with the Matrix of Destiny and Gene Keys. Its combined readings show where the systems agree, and your transits are read through both your natal chart and your Human Design type.
What’s the difference between astrology and Human Design?
Astrology looks at where the planets were when you were born and describes what drives you, what you need and how you relate to people. Human Design uses the same birth data but mixes it with ideas from the I Ching, Kabbalah and the chakras. It focuses on how you make decisions and use your energy, and sorts people into five types.
What is the Matrix of Destiny?
The Matrix of Destiny is a numerology system based on the 22 Major Arcana of the tarot. It turns your date of birth into a diagram of numbers, each linked to an energy. People use it to look at their talents, the lessons that keep coming back, and themes in love, work and money. All you need is your date of birth.
What are Gene Keys?
Gene Keys is a system created by Richard Rudd, based on the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching and calculated from your birth data. Each Gene Key has three levels: the Shadow, the Gift and the Siddhi. The idea is that whatever trips you up most often points to a strength you can grow into.
Do I need to know astrology or Human Design already?
No. Everything is explained from scratch, and every term is spelled out where it comes up. Start with the system you’re most curious about. If you already know your chart, the detailed write-ups and combined readings take you further than a quick summary.
What do I need to know about my birth?
Your date, time and place of birth. The time matters most for Human Design, and for your rising sign and houses in astrology, so check your birth certificate or ask your family. The Matrix of Destiny only needs your date of birth.
Can I see how I get along with someone?
Yes. Add your partner, a friend or a family member, and Sleda compares your charts in astrology and Human Design. You’ll see what comes easily between you and what tends to cause friction. There’s also a daily reading for the two of you.
Does Sleda predict the future?
No. Readings don’t tell you what will happen or how to live. They describe tendencies and themes worth noticing, and ask questions you can answer from your own life. Keep what fits and leave the rest.
